Parish Carnival 2013 – October 18, 19 and 20

Welcome to the 2013 Carnival, Concert & International Food Festival section of Blessed Sacrament Parish website. Hope you were able to join us last year. The faculty, staff, parents, parishioners and friends who attended enjoyed a fabulous weekend of international cuisine, carnival rides, games and wonderful live entertainment. And, most importantly, we raised over $70,000 for the church and school!

The 2013 Carnival will be held October 18, 19 and 20. We need your help to make it an even bigger and more successful celebration.

The Carnival is the single largest fundraising event for our school and parish. Both the school and parish rely on the money raised to help maintain their facilities, fund social services and promote our children’s education. There are many creative ways that you can participate and we welcome all suggestions and contributions. We hope that you will contribute in any or all of the following ways:

Come to the party and enjoy: This is Blessed Sacrament’s 60th Annual Fall Carnival. It has a long tradition and the Carnival is extremely popular for Angelinos. Admission to the Carnival and Parking are both FREE. On Sunday, October 20th, a raffle will be held for Cash Prizes of $5,000, $2,000 and $1,000.

The Carnival will feature a wide array of delectable cuisine from Mexican, Filipino, Italian, Indonesian, Eastern European and American born cooks, each providing their own native dishes. There will be a Margarita Garden and Beer Garden, replete with a 50” television screen. There will be FREE live entertainment each day of the Carnival featuring a wide diversity of performers. There will be rides and games at the Carnival.

Volunteer your time: We can use your help soliciting donations, planning and installing decorations, setting up before the event, preparing food, helping in a food, game or raffle booth, breaking down the booths after the event, etc. Whether you can spare the time to ask for donations now or can help us for a few hours during the weekend itself, we would be grateful for any time you can give.

Contribute cash or items: Perhaps you can help underwrite a favorite booth? Perhaps you can donate food items for one of the booths? Buying raffle tickets is one very important way that you can help defray the costs of the Carnival so that as much money as possible goes directly to help the school and parish. We also encourage you to request donations from local businesses that you frequent, and to ask your friends and family members if they can help us. You can find and print solicitation letters from the website.

Information: We will send you more information through the bulletin as the weekend draws closer. We encourage you to invite your colleagues, friends, and family members to join us for the weekend. Its more fun when you bring a crowd and its a greater way to learn about the school and parish. We will be offering a limited number of discounted ride tickets when the weekend draws nearer, so be on the look out.

We are excited about the chance to top our fundraising records from previous years and we look forward to a terrific weekend with food, games, entertainment, family and friends. We would be thrilled for you to help us make the 2013 Carnival, Concert & International Food Festival our best yet. Continue to check this page or read the parish bulletin for meeting dates and be a part of one or more of the committees.
