On behalf of the Blessed Sacrament Hollywood Fall Carnival Committee, Blessed Sacrament School, and the Center for Social Services, we would like to invite you to become a sponsor of the 2008 Hollywood Fall Carnival. The Carnival and Food Extravaganza will be held October 17-19, 2008 on our school grounds at 6657 Sunset Blvd in the heart of Hollywood.
This year, we celebrate our 55th annual carnival, which makes us the oldest and most historic festival in the City of the Stars! For over 100 years, Blessed Sacrament School & Parish have been a vital part of the Hollywood community. Our Annual Carnival serves as a community gathering for the entire neighborhood, for citizens of all walks of life and religious preferences. Furthermore the Carnival serves as our major fundraiser to subsidize the cost of our Elementary and Middle school, Blessed Sacrament, and our Center for Social Services.
• Blessed Sacrament School has provided quality education and a rich social and cultural environment to local children for generations. The school offers classes from Kindergarten through 8th grade. With overpopulated local elementary and middle schools, many children face bussing out of the area. Parents prefer to keep them within the community and Blessed Sacrament School is an excellent academic alternative. Many Hollywood families want a quality education for their children but cannot afford to pay the full tuition ($3,500/annually) and the funds raised through the carnival provide partial tuition assistance and/or complete scholarships to local children.
• Blessed Sacrament’s Center for Social Services, since opening its doors in 1995, has provided support for Hollywood’s growing poor and homeless community. Our center provides daily showers, clean clothing, breakfast, hot lunches, job placement services, emergency rent and utility assistance, legal clinics and counseling to over 70 men, women and children each day.
Last year’s Carnival proceeds enabled the school and Center for Social Services to continue their important mission within our community. With so much at stake and so much to be done, your support is imperative. We ask that you please consider the enclosed sponsorship levels. Your tax deductible contribution will make a great difference to a child desirous of quality education and to the working poor or homeless person in need of a second chance.
