Welcome to R.C.IA. – Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

Aim:

To experience, to reflect on, and to respond to, the call of God to be a member of the Catholic Church through sharing of faith, through studies and through living the teachings of Jesus as understood by the Catholic Church.

Schedule:

This will be a 9 month program of gradual incorporation into the Catholic Church concretely represented by the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Hollywood.

Requirements:

1. Attendance of the two sessions every week: Tuesdays at 7:30 PM for 2 hours and Attendance of Sunday Masses.

2. One day retreat during Lent

3. Copy of the Bible (OT & NT)

4. Copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church

Godparents/Sponsors.

A person from the Parish, called a Sponsor, will be chosen to accompany you on this journey, introducing you to the customs and practices of the parish.

You may invite a member or two of your family to be your Godparent(s). Godparents have to be catholics who have received the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, and IF married, married according to the laws of the Catholic Church.

Fees:

Suggested minimum Donation per person – TBA

$65.00 which includes the cost of books and weekend retreats (cost of retreats to be covered by fundraisers). It does not include donation to the church at the time of Baptism, Confirmation and/or Communion.
