Jesuit Official Praises Blessed Sacrament School
On March 17, 2009 Fr. William Kelley, S. J., Pastoral Assistant to the Provincial of the California Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) had words of high praise for Blessed Sacrament School:
On my recent, maiden visit to Blessed Sacrament School I was delightfully surprised to learn of the outstanding educational performance of Blessed Sacrament students, who scored between the 86th and 97th percentiles on the nationally-based Iowa Test of Basic Skills. (That means that Blessed Sacrament students scored higher than 86% to 97% of their peers across the country!)
While that would be an envious achievement at any school, it is especially so for a school where 84% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunches as part of the USDA's National School Lunch Program designed to assist low income families.
Blessed Sacrament students are also exceptionally well prepared in the Catholic faith. Ninety-six percent of their 8th grade students demonstrated mastery of the essentials of Catholic doctrine as measured by the ACRE (Assessment of Catechesis/Religious Education), an instrument of the National Catholic Education Association.
Finally, Blessed Sacrament School has received the highest level of accreditation by The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) an indication of the superior educational opportunity that the school provides, as well as its commitment to continual self-improvement. Performance-Faith-Accreditation: the educational trifecta.
Blessed Sacrament School has it all!
