e love to serve in this ministry as it fills us with joy and blessing, and a special honor, to assist the priests in administering the sacraments of Holy Communion to our community!
Your participation in this ministry is a response to your Baptismal call to serve the people of God as priest, prophet, and king. It reflects your commitment to Jesus as you share in the teaching, preaching, and leading roles in the Church. When you give the Eucharist, you recognize Christ in those you serve. That is a personal, even intimate moment, yet it is much bigger than the two of you.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion should be confirmed Catholics, at least 16 years of age, who themselves participate in the sacramental life of the Church. They will receive sufficient spiritual, theological, and practical preparation to fulfill their role with knowledge and reverence.
Below are the guidelines from the Archdiocese and our Parish.
