Ordained for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 2004, Dn. Eric proclaims the gospel, preaches homilies, and assists at Masses and other liturgical services. He celebrates baptisms, leads communion and funeral services, and presides at marriages.
Educated at the University of Southern California, Dn. Eric’s professional background involves strategic communications, product and user experience engineering, project and product management and web development. He co-authored Ascend: The Catholic Faith for a New Generation, published by Paulist Press in 2009. In the same year it was awarded “Best Popular Explanation of the Faith” by the Catholic Press Association.
Dn. Eric has been involved in ecumenical and inter-religious activities for many years. He has nurtured relationships with local non-Catholic Christian clergy and communities. He has also organized and co-led three interfaith pilgrimages (Jews, Christians and Muslims) to the Holy Land. He has a passion for social justice. At his last assignment, Good Shepherd, he organized a weekly free breakfast for all in need as well as food drives throughout the year.
Dn. Eric has a secret tamale recipe he uses for Christmas, and spends the Thanksgiving weekend making Christmas fruitcakes. For the rest of the year he pursues the perfect lemon meringue pie. He lives in Hollywood, where he can see the tower of Blessed Sacrament from his apartment.
