T
he Society of St. Vincent DePaul is a worldwide organization founded by Blessed Frederick Ozanam with the mission of growing spiritually by offering service to the poor.

The society began as one man’s response to the question, “What is your Church doing now? ” His reply has echoed throughout the world since the Society’s foundation in 1833 as members known as Vincentians join together to meet the needs of the poor in the spirit of their patron St. Vincent de Paul.

Blessed Sacrament Conference

Here at Blessed Sacrament parish our conference strives to keep this flame alive through our prayer and service. Our location provides us with a unique opportunity to serve a wide diversity of people. Blessed Sacrament is located in the center of Hollywood in a community melting pot where there is a great deal of poverty and spiritual need. Our meetings are twice a month and include a time of for prayer and fellowship where we reflect on the Word and how we are putting it into action through our daily lives in service to our fellow man.

Home Visits

  • Our service towards the poor in our community centers around home visits where we go out and meet our fellow brothers and sisters in a spirit of charity. Vincentians make home visits to all the those in need to better assess how we can provide assistance both physical and spiritual.

Vincentian Conference Meeting

  • Our conference meets twice a month in the Parish dining hall every first and third Monday of the month. The meetings help us to get together and decide how are time and funds are best directed to help the poor in our

Society Workshops & conferences

    • To help us with our mission of serving the poor in our community the St. Vincent de Paul regularly offers workshops and conference meetings both to edify us spiritually and educate us and how to better serve the needy. There are many workshops offered include training on financial planning, housing and mental health issues so that we can offer service to our Vincentian friends in overcoming any obstacles they are facing in their lives.

Our conference also participates in community outreach  events either by volunteering or partnering with outer groups at the Church including LA Voice, The Center  & the Pantry as well as the community at large to reach out and provide assistance . We try to provide hope and assistance to the impoverished in keeping at heart the Vincentian goal that “no act of charity is foreign to the society.”
