All Welcome to the Church of the Blessed Sacrament

We are a wonderfully diverse community located in the middle of historic Hollywood, three blocks from the Academy Awards Theater. Our ministry, which began in 1904, is focused both to enrich our community of faith and to improve the quality of life of those that live in Hollywood. We dedicate ourselves to a rich liturgical tradition in which the sacramental life of the Roman Catholic Church is made vibrant and alive. Our religious education program seeks to prepare children and adults to fully participate in this sacramental life. In addition, our elementary school (kindergarten through eighth grade), places emphasis on both the academic and the spiritual development of our students. We are also committed to the larger community of Hollywood. Our social service program seeks to serve the very poor of our community. Moreover, we seek to empower those who struggle to make their home in our community through our involvement with the Hollywood Interfaith Sponsoring Committee, a community organization in the PICO network (www.piconetwork.org). Furthermore, our annual October Carnival provides an opportunity for all the communities of Hollywood to come together for three days of fun in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. 2004 marked the centennial of Blessed Sacrament. We celebrate the many people who have made the parish and school the center of their spiritual lives over the years. In 1914, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles entrusted Blessed Sacrament to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Our present Jesuit Community stands on the foundation set by all the clergy who have preceded us in Hollywood. We are grateful. Blessed Sacrament welcomes visitors with open arms. Come join with us as we work to live out the motto of our parish: Many made one around the table of the Lord. (Muchos se hacen uno solo alrededor de la mesa del Señor.) Welcome! Bienvenidos! Mabúhay!
